July 17th

Seattle. Following on from the tutorials, I will be doing one or two morning sessions at the Oracle Training Days event that the PSOUG hold at this time of year.

25th – 27th Aug

Czech Republic. I will be running The Optimising Oracle (tm) Seminar in Prague. This will be organized by Oracle University. Note – this course will use the new timetable excluding the old section 6 on Application Overheads, and including a new chapter on the Cost Based Optimizer. This is course covers a lot of material and it is not a course for beginners.

22nd – 24th Oct

Miracle Open World 2008: (Denmark):  Mogens Norgaard has told me that I am going to volunteer to give a presentation for this world-beating event. The topic is (provisionally) title “Hints on Hints”, scheduled to last 90 minutes.

w/c 10th Nov

27th Nov

Amsterdam (Netherlands): Provisional: Key-note at LOUD 2008 (an event run by Logica). I may also present one or two of the tutorial events at around the same date.

1st – 5th Dec

Birmingham (UK): The UK Oracle User Group annual conference. I’ve sent in a few abstracts, including a suggestion for a “round-table” meeting (or series of meetings) to talk about all aspects of the Cost Based Optimizer.

The event is a full 5-day event for the 25th Anniversary of the UKOUG – but the overall timetable is being designed with a “rolling agenda” that collates presentation streams so that the newer groups in the community (e.g. Peoplesoft) can make best use of the number of conference days included in their membership fee.

Note – if you want to present on any of the Oracle products at the UKOUG conference – please submit your abstract soon, the closing date is 20th May.

9th – 10th Feb

Dublin (Ireland): I will be presenting a couple of the one-day tutorials (agenda to be decided). The event is being arranged by Oracle University.

18th – 19th May 2009
